There are four(4) Universities in Niger state, of which one(1) is a federal University, one(1) State-owned University, and two(2) Private Universities.

Nigeria’s largest state, Niger, is located in the country’s north-central area. The three political zones in Niger State are zones A, B, and C. Minna serves as the state’s capital. Bida, Kontagora, and Suleja are additional significant cities. It was created in 1976 following the division of the former North-Western State into Niger State and Sokoto State. Requirements To Gain Admission Into Federal University of Technology, Minna

  • Admission into an undergraduate program at FUTMinna can be obtained primarily through one of two entry methods, UTME or Direct Entry.
  • UTME entry requirements for FUT Minna
  • Candidates who wish to enroll at the Federal University of Technology, Minna must fulfill the following criteria:
  • Candidates must be 16years and above.
  • A minimum of 5 (five) “Cs (Credits)” marks are required for candidates’ O’level results (s). English language, math, and three other topics relevant to their area of study must be included.
  • Candidates must attain a minimum score of 170 on the JAMB UTME.
  • Candidates must take the FUTMinna post-UTME screening test, and they must do well on it (Depending on the course of study)
  • Candidates must select the appropriate topic combination for their courses because the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) will only accept results from ONE sitting.
  • Finally, to be admitted to the institution, applicants must achieve the required cutoff scores for their respective courses.
Direct Entry criteria for FUTMinna admission
  • The following criteria must be met by applicants who seek to be admitted directly to the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna):
  • The minimum number of credits a candidate must have in their O-level score is five (5). Mathematics and English are both required in this. Two sitting results are not permitted, nevertheless.
  • Applicants should obtain a JAMB Direct entry form from JAMB.

Newgate University, Minna, Niger State

The Newgate University, Minna is a privately-owned educational university that offers top-notch higher education, training, and research in the areas of health sciences, computer and engineering, social, and management sciences. It is located in the city of Minna, Niger State. The Federal Executive Council authorized the issuing of a provisional license for the founding of Newgate University Minna at its meeting on April 6, 2022.
