Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria

Ahmadu Bello University is a federal university founded by the first premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello on the 4th of October 1962 as the University of Northern Nigeria.

The university is headquartered in Zaria and has another campus in Samaru. Ahmadu Bello University also has a pre degree school located in Funtua.

The University has a chancellor as a ceremonial head of the institution, and also a vice chancellor who manages the administrative and academic activities of the school. The current vice chancellor of the university is Professor Kabir Bala.

Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna

Nigerian Defence Academy is a military base university established in February 1964 as a reformation of the British run Royal Military Forces Training College. The military academy is located in the city of Kaduna and has two campuses; Afaka and Ribadu. Nigerian Defence Academy is headed by a commandant, and the latest commandant of the university is Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf.

Airforce Institute of Technology, Kaduna

Airforce Institute of Technology is also a military based school located in Nigeria Air Force Base, Kawo, Kaduna. The school is also known as Nigeria Air Force University and was approved by the National Universities Commission to offer academic programs in 2018. The institution is headed by a provost in the person of Professor Mohammed Dauda.

State Universities in Kaduna State

Kaduna State University is the only state university in Kaduna. It is established by the state government of Kaduna State.

Kaduna State University is a state-owned university established in 2004. The university is located in the capital city of Kaduna, in the northern part of Nigeria. It has two campuses; Kafanchan and Kaduna Campus. Professor Muhammad Tanko is the current vice chancelor of he university.
